Keith Boyd

Lead Pastor
Keith grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University, where he served as a volunteer with Young Life and met his wife-to-be, Dee Ann. Keith received a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1987, then returned to Texas where he became Area Director of Denton Young Life. Through various circumstances Keith and Dee Ann began to feel God calling them to New York City, and in 1992 they came to NYC where Keith served as the Associate Pastor to Gordon MacDonald at Trinity Baptist Church. A year later Keith stepped into the role of Lead Pastor at Trinity. In 2005 he received a Doctorate of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell with a focus on Faith in the Marketplace. Keith is a graduate of the NYC Leadership Fellows Program, loves the outdoors, and makes the best guacamole in NYC. He and Dee Ann live in Manhattan and have three adult children—Hannah (and son-in-law, Graham), Benjamin, and Claire.

James Leonard

Associate Pastor
Before attending Central Washington University, James was on staff with Young Life. During his university days he helped develop a campus-based ministry (SALT) through the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The ministry quickly grew from 40 people to well over 700 in two short years. Upon graduating in 1997, James moved to New York where he attended Alliance Theological Seminary. During this time, James worked as the Volunteer Manager for the mercy and justice ministry Hope for New York, where he developed strategic relationships between countless volunteers and over 20 faith-based ministries. James also worked for Redeemer Presbyterian Church as Associate Director of Church Life where he focused on leadership development, spoke at many retreats geared for young professionals, and developed multiple community-oriented ministries. In October of 2002, James married his wife, Elizabeth. In March of 2003, James left Redeemer and became the Associate Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church, where he concentrates primarily on community and connectedness, small group development, evangelism, assimilation, and strategic planning. In 2013, he received a doctorate of ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary with a focus on Spiritual Formation. James and Elizabeth have one daughter, Iva Joy.

Our Staff 

Claude Ayemmo

Facilities Manager

Claude was born in Cameroon (Africa) and born again in 2002. His native language is French and he studied Electrical Equipment and Computer Engineering. A few years ago he moved to London, England and met his wife. They dated for a year, then he decided to move to New York and explore the American life.

Jonathan Hine

Executive Director

Jonathan grew up in the Northern Virginia area (a DC suburb) where he received an accounting degree at George Mason University. He began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young, where he obtained a CPA license and later transitioned into finance and earned the CFA designation. He has been active at Trinity since 2010 – serving with the International Ministry, Alpha, choir, and as a trustee before becoming Trinity’s Executive Director.

Beth Markham

Director, Worship Ministry

Since 2006, Beth has been Director of Worship Arts and Choir Director at Trinity. She holds a degree in music from Pepperdine University, completed graduate studies in Musical Theatre at Oklahoma City University, and a Master of Worship Studies from The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Beth believes that worship – and life – is about boldly telling the story of God, and embracing our roles in it.  She is abundantly blessed as wife to Roy and mother to Jaclyn Victoria.

Roy Markham

Audio Visual Manager

Roy moved to NYC in 1997 from Texas with his wife, Beth, to pursue a career in musical theatre and has attended Trinity since 1998. Over the years, Roy has served on the Worship Executive Team, choir and Praise Team. Roy joined the staff at Trinity in 2003 and is in charge of the multimedia system and other technology and arts that support worship. Roy, Beth, and daughter, Jaclyn, continue to serve Trinity extensively in the Worship Arts.

Marlene Ortega

Office Manager

Marlene is a native New Yorker born to immigrant parents from Cuba. Marlene studied Graphic Design at Fashion Institute of Technology and marketing at Borough of Manhattan Community College. She brings 14+ years experience in consumer marketing from L’Oréal Paris. Marlene’s passion is to help the marginalized which led her to help start an organization—The Haiti Education Alliance (THEA) where she serves as Secretary of the Board. She travels once a year to Haiti to educate Haitians on how to sustain themselves. Her dream is to be able to stop homelessness in the city she loves so much (New York City). She lives in Washington Heights with her husband Juan and their four-legged son Frosty.

Cindy Palicka

Director, Children's Ministry

Cindy joined the Trinity team in 2002 to oversee our Children’s Ministry. In her current role, she recruits volunteers to facilitate our Sunday School programs and to provide childcare during special events. Cindy was instrumental in helping develop our 1st-5th grade curriculum. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and a Masters in Elementary Education from Hunter College. She and her husband, John, have three sons, Clark, Christian, and Cullen.

Joanne Rosse


Joanne is a native of NJ where she graduated from Stockton State College (now Stockton University) with a B.A. in Business Management.  Prior to coming to Trinity in 2013, she worked in the Manufacturing industry, starting out in Traffic before moving into Inventory and Accounting and brings to Trinity 13+ years of experience in bookkeeping.

Janet Stewart

Director, Youth Ministry

Janet’s family immigrated from Jamaica to NYC when she was 10 years old. Growing up in the U.S., Janet received her B.A. in English literature and came to Trinity in 2005. Janet has a huge heart for teenagers. She served as a volunteer leader with our previous director for one year, then served as interim director before stepping into the role as Director of Youth Ministry.

Penni Urquhart

Communications/ Marketing Manager

Penni is a native New Yorker who earned her B.S. in Communications and Marketing from The Cornell Hotel School. For the last 18 years she has worked as part of a consultant team engaged in helping clients present their ideas more effectively. She has volunteered at Trinity for over 20 years, and currently helps out in the Children’s Ministry. She and her husband, Duncan, have two sons, Ryan and Ian.

Our Elders 

Biblically, the elders of the churches were charged with three roles: caring for the congregation they were overseeing (shepherding), guarding the truth of the scriptures (theological), and setting the direction for the church (missiological).

As shepherds they are charged with regularly caring for congregants through prayer and counseling and helping them to practically address the concerns they have in their lives.  Theologically they have the responsibility for directing the spiritual life of the Church, ensuring that the teaching content is doctrinally sound, that evangelistic and discipling efforts are in concert with the overall values and mission of the Church, and that Church discipline is biblically administered when necessary. They also spend quite a lot of time in the missiological role (vision formulation, vision casting, oversight of deacons, direction of church, etc.).

Fred Atkins

Fred has attended Trinity since 1994. He has served on the Trinity Board as Board Chair, Interim Board member, and was the head of the 2003 Pastoral Search Committee. He and his wife, Susannah, have been involved in various levels of ministry including youth, prayer, and small groups. Both are licensed social workers with a calling to help people achieve wholeness. Fred also taught middle school math and is particularly interested in reconciliation and mediation work.

Dave Page

Dave moved to New York in late 2008 and has been attending Trinity since early 2010. During his time at Trinity, he has served in various capacities teaching Sunday School, leading the Newcomer’s Welcome, volunteering in the International Students’ Ministry, as well as over two years as the Deacon of Men’s Ministries.  He has also gone on three Trinity mission trips to Rwanda. Dave works in the finance sector and lives in the city with his wife, Sarah, whom he married in 2012, and their son, Jackson.

Timothy Tien

Tim has attended Trinity since 2002. His involvement in church life since that time includes the worship ministry, couples’ small groups, Bright Beginnings children’s ministry, and the Elder Nominating Committee. His previous local church experience includes roles as a Sunday School teacher, youth minister, worship director, governing board member, deacon, and elder. He and his wife, Alice, have been married since 1995, and they have two daughters and a son: Ellie, Gabi, and Theo.

Ross Queener

Ross has been attending Trinity since the fall of 1997. In his time at Trinity, Ross has served on the Small Groups Commission, Church Leadership Nominating Committee, Management Team, and has been involved in new members’ training and small group leaders’ training. In 2005, Ross became an elder. Ross and his wife, Cindy, are on staff with the Campus Ministry of Cru. They are raising their two daughters, Carin and Meg, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

In July of 1993, Keith stepped into the role of Lead Pastor at Trinity. In 2005, he received a Doctorate of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a focus on Faith in the Marketplace. Keith and his wife, Dee Ann, live in Manhattan and have three adult children: Hannah (and son-in-law, Graham), Benjamin and Claire.

Our Trustees 

Trinity’s Trustees are stewards for the finances and property of the church. Trustees act as custodians of church property, advise the elders and the Executive Director on financial matters, review the church’s financial statements and oversee an external audit, submit a detailed annual financial report, prepare the annual budget, and represent the church in all legal matters.

Earl Carr

Earl has been attending Trinity with his wife, Johanna, since 2012. They have two children: Francis, 7, and Mia, 5. Earl’s service at Trinity includes 3 years on The Welcome & Connection ministry and assisting with Communion. Earl and Johanna have taught Sunday school for the last 3 years, participated in the Parents Forum, and have been involved in a weekly small group. Earl works as a Managing Director for Momentum Advisors, an international wealth management firm. Outside of work, he is actively engaged in community service. He is also actively involved in The New Canaan Society, a men’s fellowship group.

Sandra Diaz

Sandra has been attending Trinity since the end of 2006. She has served at Trinity as a facilitator in ministries including the Bright Beginnings children’s ministry for 1-2 years, the Alpha Course in Spanish for 6 months, and the Trinity Career Network for 5 years. She has also been praying for people after Sunday services over the past year and was a part of the Communications and Marketing Manager search committee. Sandra’s professional background is in marketing, especially focused on initiatives to engage U.S. Hispanics and other ethnic groups. Prior to founding her consulting firm DIAZ&CO. in 2012, Sandra had a corporate career of 15+ years at Colgate, Sara Lee, Sears, and L’Oreal.

Carlos Huerta

Carlos has been attending Trinity with his daughter, Isabella, since 2006. He is originally from Mexico and has been married to Cristina for nearly 16 years. His history of service at Trinity has been with the Children’s Ministry, including Little Blessings, Bright Beginnings, and GODQUEST. Carlos’s professional background is in the financial industry working in research and risk management.

Connie Lewin

Connie has been attending Trinity since 2006. She has been a faithful attendee of the Tuesdays 20s’ Women’s Small Group. She also serves on the leadership board of The Walk, Trinity’s new ministry for Trinity members and attendees in their 20s and 30s. Connie’s professional background is in consumer marketing and international development. She is currently the Director of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at Sustainable Health Enterprises, or SHE, a social venture that has its first manufacturing business in Rwanda.

Eric Matejevich

Eric has been attending Trinity with his wife, Joy, since 2008. They have one son, EJ, who is 6 years old. His history of service at Trinity includes 2 years on the Front Door Ministry and volunteering during the 100 Saturdays post-Superstorm Sandy. Eric’s professional background is in the finance/securities industry and the hotel/gaming industries. He recently finished a 10-year stint as Chief Financial Officer of a resort company.

Dadjie Saintus

Dadjie has been a member of Trinity since 2008. Prior to serving as a trustee, she was a deacon for Trinity’s Local Missions and has volunteered with the International Students Ministry and Worship Arts. Dadjie received an MPA at Columbia SIPA and has worked in education and global health. She currently works in development at Cornell University Medical Center.

Duane M. Smith

Duane has been attending Trinity since 2005. He has served as a teacher in a small group for couples, a member of the Counting and Welcome & Connection ministries, and on the Board of Trustees, which he chaired for five years. Duane is a physician administrator and has worked and cared for the medically underserved and people living with HIV for over 20 years. In addition, he has served on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations in the fields of public health and healthcare. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Linnie, and their sons, Brian and Andre.

Phil A. Woods

Phil has been attending Trinity since the fall of 2012 after relocating to the New York area from Singapore. He is married to the former Ms. Stephanie Whitacre and together they parent their dog, Deacon.  His service at Trinity includes recently joining the Welcome & Connection Ministry.  Phil’s professional background is in the financial services industry after serving in the U.S. Army. He currently is a Senior Salesperson in the Foreign Exchange and Local Markets business at Citigroup.
