In July 2014, another team from Trinity headed to Rwanda. The team helped with building a home for Innocent and Speciose and their children, Jean D’Amour, Julianne, and Jean-Claude. While at the build site, team members conducted children’s and women’s ministry lessons. The team also conducted a two-day Global ALPHA Training (GAT) in Gahini for 50 pastors….

In July 2013, another team from Trinity headed to Rwanda. The team helped with building a home for a woman named Genaste, and her two daughters, Eugenie and Immaculee. They also painted houses of past beneficiaries to help prevent water damage during the raining season and benefit the longevity of the homes overall. While at…

In July 2012, another team from Trinity headed to Rwanda and had a packed schedule on the trip. The team helped with building a home for a woman named Speciose, and her three daughters, Florentina, Devota, and Olive. They also painted houses of past beneficiaries to help prevent water damage during the raining season and…

In July 2011, a team from Trinity continued to build upon the relationships that were established in previous years.  Team Trinity, serving alongside Wellars, the recipient family and community members, helped build a home in Nyamagabe.  Wellars, his wife and three kids, a member of the Twa community, previously lived in a grass-thatched hut.  The team spent 3…

In 2010, Trinity’s Rwanda Mission expanded to include Global ALPHA Trainings (GATs). The ALPHA course is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity centered around a talk and a small group discussion. Trinity has been hosting the ALPHA course for years, so it seemed a natural step to add training Rwanda leaders on how…

Only a few short weeks after the medical team returned in February, plans began for the next trip in July 2009 with much excitement.  The July team was one of our largest teams and definitely stayed busy while in Rwanda.  On this trip, Trinity built its 10th house in the district of Nyamagabe, conducted a children’s…

This year we sent a building team in February and built a duplex house for Claude and Rose Mary.  We also launched the inaugural Running for Rwanda campaign, with a focus on generating child sponsorships. Over 20 runners participated in the Chicago Marathon and “advocates” focused on increasing Trinity’s child sponsorships in the Nyamagabe and Mudasomwa World Vision ADPs.

In 2007 we sent two teams to Rwanda—one to continue building homes (neighbors Brigite and Clementine were the house beneficiaries this year) and one for exploring new opportunities to more deeply invest in the people we have grown to love.  This exploratory team discovered ministry opportunities in the areas of health care, gender-based violence, micro-finance, vocational training, and…

This team not only built two houses for beneficiaries Alex and Jamima, but portions of the team spent several mornings leading learning experiences in local schools.  Cindy Palicka, Trinity’s Children’s Ministry Director, worked to create a culturally adapted program, and local World Vision staff helped with the translation needs.  As was the case with the…

The 2005 team built homes for beneficiaries Seraphine, Annonciata and Juliette.  Through generous donations, the Trinity family paid for the construction of the homes.  The connection with those the team worked alongside was priceless — the laughter, the sharing of moments, and expressions without words.  Humor surely does cross cultures!  As the team worked on these houses, the children in…
