On July 1-7, 2018, a team of six Trinity members will be travelling to Haiti: Fred Atkins, Annie Carr, James Leonard, Dadjie Saintus, Janet Stewart, and Stephanie Vasquez. We are partnering with the Haitian nonprofit Global Vision Citadelle Ministries (GVCM) in the village of Mirebalais where we will be conducting trainings in the Alpha course and Peacemaking course for over 90 pastors from around the country. As leaders serving in impoverished communities, Haitian pastors face scant resources and opportunities to grow in leadership, so these trainings will equip them with the resources to strengthen the faith and fellowship of the communities they serve.
Additionally, our team will be staying at GVCM’s orphanage serving nearly 100 Haitian boys and girls in Mirebalais. We plan to bring donations of clothing, toiletries, food staples and toys for the kids in the orphanage and as well as conduct house visits to families in the nearby village to assess unmet needs.
A Trinity team did a mission trip to Mirebalais with GVCM in 2014 and it was a life-changing experience. A few memorable moments are posted below on this page. The impact on our team went both ways. We were just as inspired by the Haitian men, women, and children we met, as we were motivated to pour into them. Our partners at GVCM are thrilled to have us return as they have identified additional pressing needs and would truly benefit from a follow up to the leadership trainings we conducted in 2014. This trip provides the opportunity to build on this work and cultivate new relationships.
