Advent comes from the Latin word adventus which means “coming”. The term refers to the ancient longing of the Messiah to come and the present expectation of his second coming. The Advent season at Trinity begins this Sunday, November 29, as we look at The Darkness into which the Light of the World came.

On December 5, we will celebrate Jesus, the Light of the World, coming into our darkness with an International Worship Celebration at 7pm! It will feature the Trinity Choir, band, and Kids’ Worship Team…and a wide array of international celebrations! Reception to follow. Please contact Cindy Palicka at cindy@trinityny.org or call 212.838.6844 ext 221 to reserve childcare for kindergarten age and under.

We will continue Advent the following three Sundays with messages focusing on The Announcement, The Star and The Genealogy. We close the Advent season at Trinity with a Christmas Eve service at 6pm that is family friendly and a favorite tradition of the season. We suggest you arrive at 5:30pm when the doors open.

Immediately following the Christmas Eve service will be a French dinner in Fellowship Hall. Tickets are on sale for $10 here, but if the cost is too much, please contact Penni at penni@trinityny.org for a deeply discounted ticket. Seating is limited and no tickets will be sold at the door.

During this season we open our doors to anyone who wishes to Come In from the Cold on Tuesdays in December at 5:30pm for some cookies and hot drinks. Please stop by, warm your hands and meet a new friend!
