We are thrilled to announce that Dr. James Leonard is our new Interim Lead Pastor as of August 6th. James has been Trinity’s Associate Pastor for almost 15 years and we know he is a strong leader and will take us through this season of transition by following the Holy Spirit’s leading. We look forward to all that God has in store for Trinity in our next 150 years of ministry in New York City and beyond.
Pastor Keith is now our Pastor Emeritus, which means that he is helping James to transition into his new role. James will be transferring some of his current responsibilities to lay leaders in our congregation and to other staff members. We will need the support of our entire body to pull together and offer our gifts as we are called to do in Romans 12. We continually strive to be more effective in our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who are growing in faith, obedience, and joy.
Just to recap in case you missed the previous announcements/emails: on June 25th, Keith announced that he and his wife, Dee Ann, are returning to Texas. On July 16th, the elders announced that we are forming a pastoral search committee. If you have feedback or feel there are aspects we should consider, you can email PastorSearch@TrinityNY.org.
Please pray for James and his family. Also, continue to pray with us that the Lord would guide the elders, trustees, deacons, staff, and the congregation as a whole, and that we would have the discernment to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. It is such a great privilege to serve in this body of believers called Trinity!
Blessings!
